Snow and Seattle Just Don’t Mix

Oh for Pete’s sake…

As if we haven’t already seen enough about snow paralyzing poor ol’ Seattle, now we have this story making the Emerald City look even more helpless–if that’s even possible at this point.

Yes, we get it, CNN. Seattle can’t handle snow to save its life. Thanks for rubbing it in. Again. And with an included video no less!

Apparently not plane as day

So, I’m back in Chicago again. This time, it’s for work-related training. And believe it or not, I’ll be back a third time around Christmas. This is truly a record for me.

Cool people collect planes

Went to the Seattle Airline Collectibles Show today. Almost completely forgot about it, but thanks to a presciently-made Outlook reminder, I was able to stop by and pick up a Gemini United Express CRJ-700. I’ve apparently managed to assemble quite the United Express fleet. Haven’t really done so intentionally – I collect all the United Airlines models that the manufacturers release, and it just so happens that Gemini and Herpa have been pretty United Express happy lately. Anyway, as for my larger collection, the list just keeps growing…

What’s that smell?

I’ll bet you never thought you’d actually see a discussion on something like this!

What’s the deal with US Airways passengers?

Anyone think it’s possible to have worse luck than this fellow?

Conventions, Trips, and Planes, oh my

As I write this, the Seahawks are mounting what looks to be a thrilling fourth quarter come-from-behind victory against the Rams, and the sun is emerging from clouds that have blanketted Seattle all weekend.

Chicago, we’ll see you in the playoffs.

Anyway, it’s time for some updates. First, I’ve (finally) uploaded pictures from the Star Trek convention I went to about a month ago. Head on over to the gallery to check them out (note: the album is limited to registered users).

Second, I was in L.A. a couple weeks ago for my cousin’s birthday. I snapped a lot of pictures that I’m … sure I’ll be uploading in due course (which, as you can see from above, probably translates to about a month late… but better late than never!)

Finally, I attended my first Airline convention yesterday! It was at the Museum of Flight, and I added a couple models to the collection – a Thai A340-600, and a United Airlines Cargo DC-10-30. My United collection is now up to 58 pieces. It may be time to upload some pictures soon.

Well, I’m spent.

A very non-bar related post

Enroute:

1) A retro beauty: United DC-6 delivery colors
2) A sleek modern: United Express ERJ-145

We are the Knights who say… NI.

Everyone must have their holy grail (or at least, something very close to it).

DAC Database

Since I have such a kind heart, I decided to upload some pictures of my models to DAC’s Model Database. They’d been missing pictures of these models for some time now, and, well, someone had to do it, right?

Check them out here:

Cutting it a little close, aren’t we?
