Gallery all glitched up… again

Once again, my gallery is nonfunctional. I think this is the result of a recent massive backend systems upgrade that 1and1 just completed. I’m honestly not sure if I want to even bother with trying to fix it. Gallery has been great, but frankly there are just too many variables to account for when trying to keep it updated and operational. There’s gallery itself, the wpg2 plugin, wordpress, gallery themes… and now the software on my own webserver. Gallery is just not feeling very convenient anymore. If anyone has any good recommendations for replacements, I’m all ears.

The media is happy

This week was been quite the boon for the national news media. To name just a few:

  1. Eliot Spitzer. Wow. That’s all I can muster. Wow.
  2. Geraldine Ferraro. Look before you leap, think before you speak.
  3. Florida and Michigan. This one looks like a time bomb. The clock is ticking…
  4. Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in downtown Atlanta. Are you kidding me? What further proof do people need of global radical climate change?
  5. Falling crane kills 4 in Manhattan. This happened in Bellevue a couple years back. Expect that Congress will (attempt to) flex its muscles.
  6. Obama had quite the pastor. Good luck with the damage control.

Don’t know if I’m ready for next week…

Dude, I got a Dell

Inspiron 530sI don’t think Dell uses that slogan any longer, but it works! A couple weeks ago, I received a shiny, new Dell Inspiron 530s in the mail. She is a beaut! Without going into gory details, I will declare that this computer is monumentally faster than my old computer, much quieter, about half the size (hence the “s,” for slim), and just downright cool. And all gotten at a very reasonable price. Although it was (and probably still would be) personally rewarding to put together my own computer, I have neither the time nor the energy anymore!

Oh and, since I channeled him in this post, I might as well provide a link to the latest news on the Dell dude.
