i couldn't agree more. in fact, i am hearing the term "mp3 player" less now, being replaced by the term "ipod." as in, any machine that has earbuds connected to it is now called an ipod, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with Apple. that gosh-damned company has certainly taken pop culture by storm. i'm standing true by my sony nw-e507. it's sleek, ergodynamic, affordable, and displays chinese text (ok, so maybe not so exciting for everyone, but it gets me on). their Atrac3plus openMG compression doesn't significantly affect the sound quality, and i'm fitting 700 songs on the 1 Gb player. i actually convinced several friends to purchase the same model without even saying a word. the point is, there's definitely a bigger world than that of ipod out there; it just takes a bit of word-spreading by your friendly neighborhood technology whores. and me.

by the by, how are things over in the great west? earlier this week i was flipping through our seattle 2004 pics; we MUST do it again. last we spoke i was still up in maine battling moose and runny-nosed children. catch up with ya in a bit.
