Can’t Get Enough of Star Trek

There’s a Star Trek convention of sorts coming up in Seattle in a week or so. I’m very tempted to pay the three-digit price to obtain a ticket and spend an evening atop the space needle celebrating one of my favorite hobbies of all time.

Some celebratory videos:

It’s the Enterprise…

And for the “Niners” out there :)

Net… what?

Here’s a record I’m sure will not readily be beaten:

I had a set of Netflix discs for… 2 years, 3 months.

Hi.

Back to the Present

I’m back from a little two-week hiatus I took to the mid-west and east coast. After spending some time with my parents, I visited some friends in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, took lots of pictures, and ate hamburgers with cayenne-buttered buns and cilantro. I’ll likely have some pictures uploaded later in the week, although I’m heading to San Fransisco this weekend for my cousin’s wedding and may not be able to get to all of them.

The SuperSite for Windows postulates that it’s “safe and prudent” for IE 6 users to migrate to IE 7 now. It also states, however, that there’s probably not enough to sway Firefox users.

That’s damn right!

Fix that plot hole!

The nerd in me was always bothered by what appeared to be a gaping plot hole in Back to the Future Part II. When the Biff from 2015 traveled back in time to give his younger counterpart the Sports Almanac, old Biff returned to what appeared to be an unaltered 2015. However, as Doc points out later in the film, the future was also necessarily altered when young Biff obtained the Sports Almanac. So, how could Old Biff return to 2015 to drop off the DeLorean?

Once again, the solution is far simpler than the original problem. From the Wikipedia:

Many fans have debated as to why Marty and Doc didn’t notice 2015 changing around them into 2015-A, and the conclusion has been that 2015-A’s Hilldale streetcorner just wasn’t noticably [sic] different from the normal one. Had the time travelers gone into town, they probably would have noticed drastic changes in the cityscape, much like there was in 1985-A’s town square, compared to the exterior of Marty’s house.

Thank goodness. I can finally get a good night’s sleep now!

(Incidentally, I contemplated creating a new category for this post… something to the effect of “ultra geeky.” That would just be a hassle though. So, geeky it is.)

New History section

I’ve spent so much time trying to make the gallery perfect that I had to put it down for a bit and focus on something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time now – creating a history section. That’s right, folks, now you can view a seven-year comprehensive picture history of this website, all with the click of a button! What are you waiting for, come on down!
