I was on cloud nine for a bit this past day, but, as is generally the case for me, reality provided a rough crash landing. Still, you develop some pretty tough skin in law school, and you get used to having to handle situations that don’t turn out favorably. I’ve learned to accept outcomes and to keep my chin up (given a few ranting sessions here and there of course)
Still, sometimes you can’t help but wish for a little luck.
If I could fashion the universe in any way I wanted, the first thing I’d do is create a rule that everyone would get what they deserve. When you work hard, you get returns. When you hope hard, you can see your desires come to light. This way, whatever you end up working the hardest for, you can get it. Conversely, what you don’t concentrate your efforts on is something you don’t get. It’s the perfect incentive-based marketplace! Who needs to regulate that!?
I suppose the next question is, if the creator of the universe put all his efforts into creating a universe where everyone got what they deserved, what would the creator get?
The Creator would get a lifetime supply of greentea bread…No, in all seriousness, the Creator would get our respect, and all that comes with that.
If the creator of the univerise is an immortal being, I think a lifetime supply of greentea bread is cruel and unusual punishment!
I think it’s time you started thinking about church. At the very least, you haven’t even given it a shot. Wouldn’t you just love to ask Him?
